Herm Hassinger


In photography since around 1975, after purchasing his first SLR 35 mm camera.
His early subjects were mainly family, animals and landscapes.

Now starting a new career in color photography after retiring from 3M in 2002,
his favorite subjects for his photos include flowers, buildings, including a striking panoramic view of the city of St. Paul, bridges, cars, boats, children (his own and grandchildren) and animals including: Lions, Eagles, Dogs, Cats,
scenic landscapes.

At 3M for 31 years doing Test Methods, Product Development and Product Engineering, on or around 1998, his 3M manager took note of his photography.
Many of Herm's 35 mm and medium format photos, were enlarged, framed, and displayed through-out his division area, in 3M Buildings, 235 and 250.
This of course encouraged Herm to continue his photography.

A recent article on Herm's photos in the Vine and Branches newsletter states:
"Herm Hassinger a local photographer, has brightened our Gallery with beautiful pictures that have been taken in the surrounding areas of St. Paul and Minneapolis. His (St. Paul) Cathedral photograph is exceptional."

Note: Another of Herm's interest is in composing original music and he is currently involved with a project which will result in Herm's first CD.
